The reason we come to school every day... Our school is nothing without our wonderful children. Their smiles, laughter, curiosity and enthusiasm are what bring our school to life. They are at the heart of everything we do, and we feel incredibly lucky to watch them learn, grow and shine every single day. Quite simply, they are what makes our school so special.

THE GREAT PENGUIN PLOT... What are Year 5 up to?! They've been spotted sneaking around the school, acting highly suspiciously... and now PENGUINS have been KIDNAPPED from Year 2! The plot thickens... Will Year 2 ever see their penguins again? Can they work out how to rescue them? And just what are the kidnappers' demands?! One thing's for sure... this mystery is only just beginning. Election fever has arrived in Year 6! Our Year 6 Mini Parliament candidates have formed their political parties and have been busy writing manifestos, creating catchy slogans and campaigning to build support for their ideas. Today, Year 6 will head to the polls and cast their votes! The successful parties will then go forward to take part in our whole-school elections next week. A fantastic opportunity for our pupils to experience democracy in action, develop their leadership skills and learn how their voices and votes can make a difference. Good luck to all our candidates and their parties!

It was lovely to welcome parents in and share more about the year ahead, including routines, expectations and how we can work together to support the children. Busy, busy, busy in our Nursery and Reception classes today! Our little learners have had a fun-filled day with lots of hands-on activities, singing, dancing and learning through play. So much fun, energy and enthusiasm! It's wonderful to see so many happy faces enjoying every moment of their day together.

Welcome back! It's been wonderful to welcome all of our pupils back and to see so many familiar faces again. And a very special welcome to all of our new pupils joining us this year! Year 2 have had an amazing start to our International Week with a trip to Brazil... without even leaving school! Our young explorers created their very own passports and boarding passes before "boarding" our flight to Brazil. Once we arrived, we discovered the vibrant culture of Brazil by designing and making our own colourful Carnival masks. It was a pleasure to welcome Caroline Jopp and Gillian Woodward from the Spelthorne in Bloom Committee to our school this week. We were proud to share our developing outdoor environment, including our SuDS pods, sensory garden and newly planted trees. We spoke about the importance of creating spaces that inspire pride, belonging and respect for the world around us. For our children, a beautiful and cared for environment sends a powerful message that they deserve places where they feel valued, inspired and able to thrive. Our Mini Parliament had the pleasure of meeting the new Mayor of Spelthorne, Cllr Sandra Dunn! The children thoroughly enjoyed asking the Mayor lots of thoughtful questions and learning more about her role in supporting our local community. It was a fantastic opportunity to develop their understanding of democracy, leadership and civic responsibility.
