Town Farm Primary School

Every Child, Every Day, Every Moment

Week beginning 13th July

Hello again year 2 superstars, how are you all doing this week?

Hasn’t the weather been strange this week? One minute it’s gorgeous bright sunshine and too hot to be outside… the next minute it is pouring down with rain with huge grey clouds above! Hopefully the weather starts to make its mind up for next week! That being said, we hope you’ve all enjoyed some time inside and outside this week and hopefully you’ve been staying active! It’s great to stay active to give your brain a break sometimes!

We are so close to the end of the year… we can’t believe it – can you? We’ve planned some more exciting learning for you this week. For English you will be continuing with ‘The Elves and the Shoemaker’. You will become authors this week, writing your own story, instructions and some riddles to share with your friends and family. You also have an experiment that is related to the book – we hope you enjoy this! For maths this week you are going to be learning about measurement – this is so important in many different scenarios and you can have lots of fun whilst learning about measurement. For IPC you are continuing to learn about the circus and you are going to have some fun designing and making your own parts to the circus! Don’t forget you’ve also got the online activities if you fancy a change and you have some spellings to practice also – these are important.

As always, please make sure you are completing some, if not all, of your learning each day. It is important for you to keep up the good work whilst not in school – it will support you when you return. We’ve seen some brilliant learning in school this week, and via email and the post box – keep an eye out to see if you’ve had a response from the teacher. Please remember to send in your learning either through the post box or via the KS1 email. Remember to include your name and your class. We look forward to seeing this and celebrating your learning with you – not long left… keep going!

We hope you will join us in wishing Elliot a very Happy Birthday for next week! We hope you enjoy celebrating with your family and have lots of fun. Keep checking back, we look forward to celebrating more in the coming weeks.

Hopefully you’ve enjoyed lots of quality time with families and have shared lots of memories. We miss you lots at school and can’t wait to hear all about it when we return! We are ever so proud of all the hard work you have been doing – year 2 superstars!

Sending our best wishes to you all,

From Miss Logan, Miss Peerless-Brewerton, Miss Goodman, Mrs Mee and Mr Hadley.
